Obliecht (CH - Appenzell, Baden, Zürich)

"Obliecht". At first glance, everything seems so ordinary: woolen sweaters, coffee cups, chickens, country idyll. But inside the house, the universe’s infinity opens up. Instead of dairy cows, a clear view of the Milky Way. At second glance, Obliecht is everything but ordinary.

Donat Kaufmann started Obliecht by writing texts in dialect during the pandemic years. The theme: his socialization (as a man), and how he stumbles over it today. In the band he also plays guitar, bass and synthesizer. Elias Menzi significantly shapes the sound of the trio with the Appenzell dulcimer. The two musicians are accompanied, complemented, and driven by Anuk Schmelcher on drums.
