Barbicop (CH - Vevey)

Barbicop is the stage name of Swiss artist Madeleine Sandri. Formed during a stay in Berlin in 2021, the project developed around the Loophole, a DIY cultural venue in Neukölln that brought her into close contact with artists working in noise, lo-fi, punk, hyperpop, and electronica. Before the space was shut down by the authorities, Barbicop played her first concert there, then returned to settle in Switzerland in 2023. That same year she published her first EP “Upwards and Inwards”. A new period of composition followed which would become “Barbicopium” (Mouthwatering Records), a second EP that allowed her to tour in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria, including stops at the Fusion Festival and the WAVES Festival.
