Gini Brown's new single “Drink” is a potential hit song that oscillates between humor and truth, between champagne glasses and self-doubt. The song was born out of anger at being incorrigible—yet it offers an ironic take on escapism and the search for comfort in the fleeting: Crazy, need a drink or three / Crazy, mental health's not free / I'll take a sip or three and then I'll leave it be – it's just prosecco, baby. Sometimes it seems easier to drink a glass of prosecco than to deal with your own problems. But “Drink” is not meant to encourage drinking, but rather to question what we do to ourselves when we repeatedly go overboard. “As a little experiment, I haven't had a drink since my last release, and I feel more than brilliant,” the musician continues. “I've never been fitter after a party than I am now, but alphabet soup for breakfast is still great, even without a hangover.”
